MODERN MINDFUL MANNERS COACHING
FORKS, KNIVES AND SOFT SKILLS
It’s the little things that count, a simple thank you, a firm handshake, looking a person in the eyes when speaking with them; basic civility in this increasingly busy and complicated world. Main Street Manners goes beyond use of knife and fork as it shows that all interactions are meaningful - in school, at work, at home, on Main Street and beyond.
Our coaching also stresses much needed soft skills which are the foundation for personal and professional success. Though an interactive slide presentation manners become relatable, as do the notions of self control, teamwork, empathy and flexibility.
Repitition is key to develop a continual awareness of kindness and respect, civility and fairness, honesty and empathy, good manners are learned mindfully and more permanently.
The format is flexible and interactive, meeting targeted demographics where there is the most need respecting where they are developmentally and emotionally.
Main Street Manners is perfect for those in grade school thru high school, college and those entering the work force. Coaching is also suitable for schools, clubs, churches and professional organizations.
WHO WE ARE
Main Street Manners was created by Rebecca Bahr. Rebecca has always been a keen observer of social interactions and has long understood the value of good manners and gaining confidence at any age. She practiced soft skills in all aspects of her life as a member of many organizations in her community on the North Shore of Long Island. Rebeca is a well-seasoned parent of three adult children, all of whom have excellent manners, which serve them well as they navigate their lives. Even her dog is well behaved.
Rebecca holds a certificate to teach Manners and Etiquette to Children and Young Adults from the Emily Post Institute in Burlington, Vermont and is a member of The National Speakers Association New York Chapter. Main Street Manners is the intersection of time-honored traditions and new best practices. With her wisdom, knowledge and perspective Rebecca works to encourage and inspire those she works with to see themselves as citizens of the world in a mindful way.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Main Street Manners coaching is different from other etiquette programs as it is fun, interactive and engaging. Through an interactive slide show and lively discussion between Rebecca and participants, individuals discover appropriate behaviors and understand their value. Learning manners in a modern mindful way is to to acknowledge that words and actions have an effect on others; these are not only soft skills but life skills.
A myriad of topics can be addressed as the program can be structured to meet particular needs for schools, businesses, organizations and other groups.

as to why good manners and a firm understanding of soft skill are
so important for those who want to get ahead and stand out.

It’s never too early to learn good manners.

"I really liked working with Mrs. Bahr. She incorporated fun stuff and made the class interesting instead of a strict. It helped me remember how to behave at the dinner table.”

“We engaged Main Street Manners to work with our two active sons and we were impressed with the results. They wanted to know when she is coming back!”
